My Oregon Study Abroad Experience

Last summer, I had the opportunity to participate in a study abroad program in Oregon, USA. It was a memorable experience that left a profound impact on me. In this essay, I would like to share my experiences and reflections during my four-week stay in Oregon.

Firstly, the natural beauty of Oregon was absolutely breathtaking. Coming from a bustling city, I was amazed by the vast and green landscape that Oregon offered. I had the chance to visit Crater Lake National Park, which is a massive caldera, the crystal clear waters and stunning views made me feel like I was standing in paradise. We also visited the historic Timberline Lodge, where we were able to experience snow in the middle of summer! It was amazing to witness such contrasting landscapes in one trip. I was able to let go of my daily routine and simply enjoy being present in the moment.

Secondly, the study abroad program offered several exciting and enriching academic courses. As a computer science student, I had the chance to take a web development course that involved building a website for a local business in Oregon. Working in a team with students from other countries was a valuable learning experience. It allowed me to communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds, understand different perspectives, and develop my skills in working collaboratively. The course also provided opportunities to interact with local businesses, which helped me to learn about Oregon’s economy and culture.

Thirdly, the cultural immersion activities helped me to develop a broader perspective on life. I visited various museums, attended cultural festivals, and interacted with local families.
